Bewdley Museum
Bewdley Museum is where several resident craftspeople specialise in various crafts. Explore the town’s fascinating history and discover the vibrant past of this historic trading post that was home to a Royal Palace and the birthplace of a Prime Minister. There is an underground World War II air raid shelter where you can recreate a 1940s experience. You will see the old town Jail, built in 1802, which was used for over 130 years but now houses old police equipment, and stories of crimes and punishment in the 19th Century. Relax in the walled Herb Garden, visit the working watermill and bee garden and visit the Brass Foundry where Christopher Bancks, who came to Bewdley in 1697, became one of the country’s most famous brass founders and pewterers.
West Midlands Safari Park
Just 1.5 miles from Bewdley town centre, the West Midland Safari Park has a host of activities, shows, and events that run throughout the year to ensure there is something to suit everyone. The latest addition is the UK’s largest animatronic Dinosaur attraction that will transport you back in time with the story of the Dinosaurs unfolding over millions of years.
There is a Safari Drive Through where you come face to face with some of the fastest, tallest and cutest animals around. The 4-mile drive-through Safari offers close encounters you will never forget. The AFRICAN PLAINS is home to a herd of southern white rhinos, the elegant giraffe, the well-known stripes of a zebra, prized Ankole cattle, Congo buffalo, ellipsen waterbuck, swamp-loving red lechwe, ostrich and the eland, the largest of all antelope species.
There is also an Adventure and Tiny Tots Theme Park open daily during the summer season. There are 28 rides and attractions to suit the whole family. Plummet 30m back to earth on Venom Tower Drop, get soaked on the Wild River Rafting or Zambezi Water Splash or jump aboard the galloping zebras on the Congo Carousel ride.

The Severn Valley Railway
The Severn Valley Railway is a 16-mile railway, hauling mostly steam trains which operate between Bewdley and Kidderminster, and runs along the beautiful Severn Valley. ‘The Engine House’ Visitor Centre is located halfway along the line at Highley. You’ll see the reserve collection of steam locomotives on display, including an exhibition that charts the history of the Severn Valley line.

Arley Arboretum & Gardens
Arley Arboretum offers something for all ages to enjoy, from the magnificent signposted walks to the wonderful sound of the Severn Valley trains steaming across the hill. Visit the Italian garden with its lovely fountain, and youngsters will enjoy the Maze and the Dinosaur and Fairy Trails.
Arley Arboretum is tucked away amidst beautiful countryside on the banks of the River Severn. You can get to the Arboretum from the Severn Valley Railway, which is just a 10-minute walk from the station, crossing over a picturesque footbridge. There is also a shortcut through the Church grounds and walk to the Arboretum main entrance.
